They Made $9 Billion in Sales

With inflation jumping out of the gym, are consumers concerned about budgeting during the holidays?

Survey says, uh-no. They are breaking records like Shacarri Richardson.

How Did They Make $9 Billion

Consumers spent about $9,000,000,000.00 for Black Friday deals. Yes, NINE BILLY! If you think that’s wild, then check out these cyber Monday stats.Holiday big-spenders are projected to spend eleven billion dollars ($11,000,000,000.00) during cyber Monday. Six billion dollars were spent in 6 hours.

Did you contribute to breaking the record? I know I spent a smooth $200 on clothes I DO NOT need. I got to be young, fly, and cute right? My bank account will not co-sign with that statement.

As we aimlessly spend our hard earned money supporting retailer’s addictive sales schemes, let’s not forget about “Giving Tuesday.”

What is Giving Tuesday

I know you might be thinking that Tuesdays are reserved for tacos. I agree, but allow the tacos to make space for this day of giving.

Giving Tuesday is the first Tuesday after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It was created to celebrate acts of kindness. We all get wrapped up in fulfilling our loved one’s wishes by loading requested gifts in our carts and distributing them.

Choose this Tuesday and many more in the future to make someone smile.

Things to Do on Giving Tuesday

Giving isn’t always about handing out money. You can give a service to render a good deed.

  • Letting someone in during rush hour traffic is simple, but rarely done. Most times cars will have to bully their way onto the highway. Be kind and share the road.

  • Pick up trash in your neighborhood.

  • Pay for someone’s lunch.

  • Help your neighbors with yard work or assist someone with hanging up Christmas decorations.

  • Volunteer for an organization or sponsor a family for Christmas.

  • Visit a loved one that you haven’t seen in a while. They’ll be happy to see you.

…and the list goes on.

Today is a friendly reminder that giving is the reason for the holiday season.
