Sharing A Thought For 2022

Introverted Confession: Sometimes I hate sharing the world with other people

Introverts all over the world can relate to that selfish statement. Kindness and compassion isn’t trendy in this day and age. Financial and emotional struggles are pushing people to the edge to react in heinous ways. It seems as if life is getting harder as the seasons pass. There’s multiple school shootings, various criminal acts plaguing communities, and a flawed legal system. Somehow, everyone reading this blog is surviving another 24 hours with the unkind people in this world. It’s challenging to make it through, but I thank God that you are still here. Our beautiful children are forced to grow-up in this unpredictable environment. We cannot save them from all of the inconsiderate souls they’ll encounter, but we can teach them to share a bit of their compassion with these broken people.

As 2021 comes to an end, we’ve focused on celebrating holidays and spent quality time with family and friends. Sharing was the ultimate focus whether you’ve realized it or not. For Thanksgiving, we’ve shared our most precious recipes with our loved ones. Since November 26, 2020, I’ve waited 365 days just to eat a perfectly crafted dressing and turkey with mac n cheese, yams, and collard greens. For Christmas, we’ve given out the greatest gifts that we could afford. In unfortunate cases, we’ve loaded our credit cards with gifts we couldn’t afford just to see our loved ones smile. Santa owes me at least $10,000 for the gifts I’ve purchased in his absence. On New Year’s Eve, we will share our new year’s resolutions and repentances to enter 2022 with a clear mind. I’ve cleaned my house and prepared my collard greens and hoppin’ johns, a cultural tradition, as good luck for the new year.

Remember

Sharing is the reason for the holiday season. We should keep that in mind when the clock’s hands align at midnight. Let the holiday season be a teachable moment for the kids. Remind them to be much more grateful and charitable. It’ll increase their willingness to be kind and compassionate to others as they get older.

Happy New Year,

Bee
